About Deadhead
What is Deadhead?
Deadhead makes home fragrances for the human condition: candles and scents created with a specific emotional purpose, for the moments and moods you actually live through.
Which fragrance is for me?
Start with how you want to feel. Each fragrance is built around a state of mind, so pick the one that matches where your head’s at. Not sure? Take our quiz and we’ll point you towards the fragrance made for it.
Is Deadhead aromatherapy?
No. Aromatherapy focuses on essential oils. We work from aromachology, which looks more broadly at how all kinds of scent, natural and synthetic, affect mood, emotion and behaviour.
So will a candle actually change how I feel?
Scent can change the emotional tone of a moment and become a useful cue within a repeated ritual. How it feels is shaped by memory, expectation and context, so it won’t affect everyone in exactly the same way.
Are these very “wellness” scents?
Not in the usual sense. We don’t claim a candle can cure anxiety, burnout or loneliness. Our fragrances are made to smell good first, and to help create the conditions for a different state of mind.
Where are the candles made?
Our candles are handmade in Ireland
Can I stock Deadhead in my store?
We’d love to hear from you. Email sara@deadheadworld.com and we’ll send over our line sheet and wholesale information.
Product FAQ
What are Deadhead candles made from?
Our candles are made with 100% soy wax.
How strong are the fragrances?
Strong enough to fly the room without overwhelming you, and everyone in it. They'll of course smell stronger in smaller and more exposed spaces.
How should I burn my candle?
On the first burn, let the wax melt all the way to the edges to avoid tunnelling. Keep the wick trimmed to around 5mm, never leave a burning candle unattended, and stop burning when 1cm of wax remains.
Why does my candle look slightly different from another one?
Each candle is poured by hand, so small differences in surface texture, colour or frosting are natural and don’t affect how it burns or smells.
Can I reuse the jar?
Yes. Once the candle has finished, clean out any remaining wax with warm soapy water and use the jar for whatever you like.
