About

Home fragrance for the human condition.

Deadhead exists because we believe fragrance deserves a bigger role in everyday life.

Decades of research have shown that scent has a direct relationship with the parts of the brain involved in mood, memory and emotion. It's the only sense with a direct pathway to these emotional centres, allowing it to influence how we feel almost instantly. Yet home fragrance is still largely chosen for how it smells, rather than what it might help us feel.

Every Deadhead fragrance starts with a simple question: what should this help someone feel? From there, we choose ingredients, refine accords and build the fragrance around the answer.

Our first collection explores four emotional experiences: burnout, anger, creativity and connection. Not because fragrance can solve them, but because we believe it can play a small, meaningful role in how we move through them.

Why these four?

Our first collection

Our first collection explores four emotional experiences that many of us know well. Not because fragrance can solve them, but because we believe it can play a small, meaningful role in how we move through them.

Forest Brain is for when everything needs your attention at once.

Rage Quit is for the moments when frustration starts making decisions for you.

Brain Child is for when the ideas are there, but they won't come together.

Kitchen Party is a reminder that one of the oldest forms of wellbeing is simply gathering around a table.

How we create a fragrance

Every fragrance follows the same process.

1. Start with the emotional experience.

We begin by understanding the feeling we want to support.

2. Study the evidence.

We review research into how different aromatic materials influence mood, attention and emotional processing.

3. Build the fragrance.

Every ingredient has a job to do, balancing emotional function with a fragrance you'd genuinely want to live with.

4. Test, refine and simplify.

Because no one wants a science experiment. They want a candle they reach for instinctively.
